Jazz By Heart is a rare kind of musical experience. Not only does it spring out from a very intimate relationship but also the musical genres have escaped any kind of boundary. The choice of music is all about the quality of a fantastic song no matter who wrote it, be it; Rogers & Hart, Gillian Welsh, Bill Evans, Jobim or Bob Dylan. Their repertoire is widespread and impressive. Jazz By Heart is Karin Juhl – Vocal and Daniel Van Kranendonk – Guitar and occasionally the guests they invite to play bass, sax, percussion etc.

Karin Juhl is a gifted singer and has released a CD called “Very Early” in Nov 2010 with a band that includes Copenhagen’s best: Ben Besiakov, Anders Christensen, Jakob Høyer, Jakob Dinesen and of course Daniel Van Kranendonk. Her release received excellent reviews,
***** 5 stars in the newspaper Berlingske. Karin has been connected to Christinias’ Jazz Club and has played and jammed together with most of the known jazz musicians in Copenhagen. Her voice is mature and the interpretations have the depth that occurs on the right side of a
singer in her forties.

Daniel Van Kranendonk is a pupil of Bjarne Roupé and has been snuzzling around fusion jazz and more rock’n roll kind of music before the Jazz By Heart was created. Daniel is busy creating his own style of playing, which includes several hours of playing Bach on the acoustic guitar.
