The Vesterbro Festival or START Festival as it is now called has become quite an institution amongst Copenhagen’s summer festivals.

This traditional Nørrebro music venue and notorious hangout will continue to beat its drum for all the musical fringe projects, for the unorthodox, the offbeat, the interesting countercultures and the quirky artists.

In Copenhell the people of Copenhagen now have a serious metal festival. Big names, both domestic and international, feature on this hard-hitting, two-year-old venue.

By the looks of it Copenhell may very well become a recurrent festival on the international metal scene.

The creative jumping jacks behind the jazz club Loco opened the basement club Wray in October and thus created a great scene for alternative and experimental music.
