" After dining at Mother once with some friends, a couple of days after the opening, I tried to go back two other times with no success. Both of the times Mother’s personnel treated me very disrespectfully.

The first time, I went for some take-away pizza on a Sunday early afternoon and I was told they just don’t do pizzas during brunch – A pizzeria that doesn’t serve pizza ??? Even though the oven was on as there was pizza on the brunch menu, even though I just wanted take-away food and even though half of the personnel was doing nothing when I walked in....Very disappointing and a bad business strategy imho, but what unnerved me the most was the way the chef told me, his arrogance and smugness was astonishing.

Stupid as I am, I tried to go again for brunch with some friends. I swung by to book a table while my baby was sleeping in his pram but when I tried to go through the door the waiter (owner?) shouted (literally) at me that prams are not allowed inside. Fair enough, but very bad manners again. I left the pram outside and went inside to book a table. When I was making the booking I mentioned I would be coming with my baby again so I probably needed a table outside as they have that no-prams policy inside. The waiter just looked at me with a very arrogant face and told me “we don’t book tables outside”. Full stop. No alternative, no apologies, no greetings, no good-byes, nothing. I just left, feeling like I was trying to book an audience with the Queen and I wasn’t worth it.

What kind of restaurant is this? What kind of service do they provide? Have they got so many clients that they allow themselves to shoot some away?
Not only once, but twice, they wouldn’t serve food to me, it seems like they don’t need the clientele.

The first time I dined at Mother I enjoyed the food (nice although pricey) and the service (they were very helpful and attentive to us) but now they are very rude and full of themselves. The initial attentiveness is long gone (guess they were just faking it to lure in some clients). After having tried twice I’m now convinced I should never set foot in their restaurant ever again. "
